Dogen Sangha's Saturday Meetings in Tokyo


Zazen Practice and Talk on Buddhism

Our Saturday meetings in Tokyo are held at Tokyo University's Young Buddhists Association in Hongo Sanchome (see below for map). We practice Zazen sitting for 30 minutes and afterwards Gerhard Wolfram or Peter Rocca gives a talk. Questions and discussions are welcome. Anyone interested is welcome. Attendance fee is 400 yen for the meetings on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Saturdays.

The meetings are held every 1st, 3rd and 5th Saturday:
1:00-1:30pm  Zazen
1:30-2:30pm  Lecture

And every 2nd and 4th Saturday:
12:30-1:00pm  Zazen
1:00-2:00pm  Lecture

 

UPCOMING DATES: (Please note that there'll be no meeting on July 10, and from July 24 to September 4 due to the summer vacation. The next meeting after the summer vacation will be on September 11.)

Beginners are welcome, but please come a few minutes early if you need instructions. Wear loose comfortable clothes.

Or click here for an English map to the Young Buddhists Association in Hongo Sanchome from the Marunouchi or Oedo subway lines. Both lines run through Shinjuku Station. The stop on both lines is called Hongo-Sanchome.  

Directions: From the Marunouchi line station, turn right after passing through the ticket barrier and follow the alley out to the main street. The building where the meetings are held is across the street. You can cross at the traffic lights on the corner (see map). From the Oedo line station, take exit no. 5 and turn to the left after leaving the station. Follow the main street and then turn left again at the corner with the traffic lights (see map). The entrance to the Young Buddhists Association is next to the Nicos travel agency (just behind the bus stop).
